Essays From 20,000 Fathoms. Just say it out loud again. Kind of rolls off of the tongue, doesn't it? This marked the first time the Hodgepodge Society made themselves known in the public eye. For you see the Hodgepodge Society has a storied history of snobbery and non-inclusion, but Pittsburgh chapter members Sir Joseph Lyons, Esq. and Lord Robert Von Isenberg were no longer satisfied with signaling from the elite opera box of life. The Hodgepodge Society had been influencing human history for ages and it's time they shared their presence with the world. Presenting the essays they wrote while in a capsule deep within the Marianas Trench, the Hodgepodge Society performed took to the podiums to a standing room only crowd. Success would be met with praise and adulation. Faliure would be met with beatings and lawsuits.

Thankfully, success would be in the hands of the Hodgepodge Society that day. Performers not sure what to anticipate met an audience who didn't know what to expect...and a fun time was had by all. And, damn it, that's what the Hodgepodge Society is really all about. The Hodgepodge Society was burst forth onto an unsuspecting poulace and no one was serverly injured...at least no one was maimed in any sort of horrible way. The essays were met with laughter, the toasts were met with aplauds AND we caught the whole damn thing on video. That's right! Head on over to the media page to catch some of the clips or, if you're in Pittsburgh, you can rent it at The Dreaming Ant, one of Pittsburgh's premiere alternative video stores. Ah, yes. Essays from 20,000 Fathoms. In some ways our first show will always be our most memorable, in others it will be our most infamous. For this was the day the Hodgepodge Society was truly born.
The Hodgepodge Society is constantly ready for action. We typically have to go through 15 to 20 duels a day. We're schooled in serveral martial arts and are not afraid to use them.
